National Taipei University of Technology, also known as Taipei Tech, has partnered with Custos, to develop an advanced carbon footprint calculation platform. The collaborative effort aims to provide businesses and individuals with an accurate and reliable tool to measure their carbon emissions and reductions from a change of lifestyle actions.
Ph. D. Allen Hu, Distinguished Professor of the Institute of Environmental Engineering and Management, and also the Dean of Library and Information Services at Taipei Tech, and Mr. Thomas Yap, CEO of Custos, formalized the partnership on April 26, 2023.
This partnership between industry and academia also helps develop the talent necessary for tackling climate change. Professor Hu’s expertise lies in corporate sustainability and life cycle assessment and management, where he has served as a committee member in the Environmental Protection Administration's Environmental Label and Carbon Label Promotion Review Committee and the Ministry of Economic Affairs' Green Mark Review Committee among others. Further, the National Taipei University of Technology is the top choice for nurturing engineering talents in Taiwan, where graduates have both theoretical knowledge and practical skills and are known for their passionate dedication.
